End federal income tax except in war
This bill proposes a constitutional amendment to end federal income taxes, except during a war declared by Congress. If ratified, you would not owe federal income tax, except in wartime. This would start 2 years after ratification. The amendment would only take effect if three-fourths of states ratify it within 7 years. Within 180 days of ratification, the Treasury Secretary would send Congress recommendations to carry it out. The proposal does not say how lost tax revenue would be replaced.
