Summary
Transfers about 20 acres at Fort Bragg to North Carolina for a State home for veterans. This bill would authorize the Secretary of the Army to convey, without payment, Parcel 3B on the Fort Bragg Training Area in Harnett County to the State of North Carolina so the state can build a State home as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101. North Carolina must pay all costs of the conveyance, including environmental and real estate due diligence, and reimburse the Army, with any excess refunded. If the property stops being used for State home activities it may revert to the United States and the Secretary can impose terms to protect federal interests.

Free Fort Bragg land for veterans' home
The Army would give North Carolina about 20 acres at Fort Bragg at no purchase price. The state would build and run a veterans' State home there under its military and veterans affairs department. North Carolina would pay the Army’s costs to process the transfer, including environmental and real estate checks, and any extra advance payments would be refunded. The Army would be able to require a survey and other terms to protect U.S. interests. If the site were not used for the State home, the land and buildings would revert to the United States at the Army’s option, with immediate entry.
