Summary
Ban on Chinese seafood in congressional dining facilities. This bill would prohibit procuring, serving, or selling seafood that is fished, harvested, raised, produced, or processed in whole or in part in the People's Republic of China in any cafeteria, restaurant, or food service on the Capitol Buildings or Capitol Grounds. It would require suppliers to certify every country where the seafood was sourced and keep records to substantiate those certifications. Covered entities like the House Committee on House Administration, the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, and the Architect of the Capitol would have 180 days to issue implementing regulations. The bill defines the People's Republic of China to include Hong Kong and Macau and excludes Taiwan.
