Summary
Connects transit riders to the national suicide prevention hotline through mandatory, visible displays. This bill would require recipients of federal transit assistance to post that the hotline is free, confidential, and available 24 hours on public transportation vehicles or in transit facilities, allow satisfaction by vehicle-wide or facility-wide displays, excuse temporary damage or vandalism if agencies reasonably try to replace them, protect paid advertising space, and make the requirement effective one year after enactment.

Transit agencies must display hotline info
This bill would require recipients of Federal assistance under chapter 53 of Title 49 to post suicide prevention hotline information. The information would have to be on public transportation or in transit facilities and visible to passengers. It must say the hotline is free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day. Agencies could meet the rule by posting the information on all vehicles or in all facilities. If a sign is damaged or removed temporarily, agencies would not be noncompliant if they make a reasonable effort to replace it. The requirement would take effect one year after enactment and must not interfere with paid advertising space.
