Summary
Direct deposit option for replacement tax refunds. This bill would let eligible taxpayers elect to receive a replacement tax refund by direct deposit instead of getting a replacement paper check when an earlier refund check was lost or stolen. The Secretary would have to issue regulations within six months to establish procedures for making that election and the change would take effect upon enactment.

Direct deposit for replacement tax refunds
If enacted, you could choose direct deposit for a replacement tax refund check that was lost or stolen. This would apply only if your original refund was a paper check sent for an overpayment. Treasury would have to issue rules within 6 months of enactment explaining how to make this election. The change would take effect on enactment, but you would use it once the rules are in place.
