Summary
Expands eligibility for VA headstones, markers, and burial receptacles. This bill would remove the "who dies on or after November 11, 1998" cutoff in 38 U.S.C. 2306(b)(2), letting families of veterans who died before that date get VA-provided markers.

VA headstones for pre-1998 deaths
This bill would remove the rule that only covered deaths on or after November 11, 1998. If enacted, families could ask the VA for a headstone, marker, or burial receptacle for a veteran who died before that date. Requests would follow the usual VA process. The change would take effect upon enactment.
