If enacted, the TVA Board would have to meet at least four times a year. It would need to post meeting notices and required materials on its website. The chair could call an emergency meeting without the usual one-week public notice. The bill would define a meeting to include Board, committee, and subcommittee talks, even when no vote is planned. Most such meetings would be open to the public under federal open-meeting rules. But the Board could withhold some information, including power-availability requests and contract or labor talks, when release would harm TVA’s competitive position.
