Port grants to replace China-linked cranes
If enacted, the Port Infrastructure Development Program would clearly allow grants to upgrade or replace port cranes and crane parts, including hardware and software, when the equipment was installed or provided by the People’s Republic of China or is maintained, controlled, or sponsored by it. Ports, port authorities, terminal operators, and state or local governments could apply for these funds. The bill would also authorize grants for projects that improve port resilience. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
