Green cards lost after violent crime for some Palestinians
If enacted, a person from this group who adjusts to a green card and then commits a crime of violence (18 U.S.C. 16(a)) would lose that status. The group is people who usually lived in Judea and Samaria or Gaza, or who hold a Palestinian Authority passport or travel document. This rule would start upon enactment.
Inadmissible, deportable, and no parole for some Palestinians
If enacted, people who usually lived in Judea and Samaria or Gaza, or who hold a Palestinian Authority passport or travel document, would be deemed inadmissible and deportable. DHS would also be barred from granting them parole into the United States. These rules would take effect upon enactment.
No asylum, TPS, or DED for certain Palestinians
If enacted, people who usually lived in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) or Gaza, or who hold a Palestinian Authority passport or travel document, would be ineligible for asylum, refugee admission, and Temporary Protected Status. They would be ordered removed. The bill would also block Deferred Enforced Departure for this group and bar any federal funds for it. It would void the Feb 14, 2024 DED memo and the Apr 15, 2024 DHS notice on work permits for that memo.
