More VA lodging for veterans, service members
If enacted, you would be able to use VA temporary lodging when space is available if you are an active-duty service member, a veteran, a family member, or a companion who must travel a significant distance for care. This would apply whether the care is at a VA medical facility or at a non-VA facility. The VA would have to set criteria for who can use lodging under the new categories. Fisher Houses would remain limited to facilities built and donated to the VA by the named Fisher organizations and located at or near VA medical centers.
Pension deadline extended six months
If enacted, the deadline in 38 U.S.C. §5503(d)(7) would change from January 31, 2033 to July 31, 2033. This would give affected pension recipients six more months to meet the referenced deadline.
