Broader AI training for federal staff

If enacted, the bill would widen who must take federal AI training. It would cover acquisition staff listed in 41 U.S.C. 1703(g)(1)(A), managers and supervisors, and employees in OPM’s math or IT job series. Training would teach what AI is, its benefits and risks to the federal government, and how data shapes AI. It would also require knowledge of AI capabilities, risks, and best practices set by the General Services Administrator, aligned with OMB guidance under the AI in Government Act of 2020 and the Advancing American AI Act. These changes would take effect upon enactment.
