Summary
Restores federal authority to allow offshore oil and gas leasing in areas withdrawn by presidential memoranda. This bill would nullify two Presidential memoranda issued January 6, 2025 that withdrew parts of the Outer Continental Shelf from oil and gas leasing. It reverses the withdrawals covering the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, Pacific, and the Northern Bering Sea Climate Resilience Area so the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management could issue offshore leases in those areas.
