Shift missile money to Title I schools
If enacted, the bill would move certain defense funds to education. Money not yet obligated for the Sentinel missile and the W87-1 warhead, as of enactment, would be transferred to the Education Department. The funds would be used for Title I, Part A, to help low-income K–12 students. The bill does not name a dollar amount.
Independent review of Minuteman III lifespan
If enacted, the Defense Secretary would seek within 30 days to hire the National Academy of Sciences for a study. The study would assess keeping Minuteman III missiles in service to 2050 or beyond, including costs versus Sentinel. NAS would report to the Secretary in 180 days, and the Secretary would send it to Congress in 210 days. Anyone paid to work on the Sentinel program in the Air Force would be barred from the study. The report must be unclassified, with a classified annex allowed.
One-year ban on Sentinel and W87-1 funds
If enacted, the bill would bar any FY2026 spending on the Sentinel program or the W87-1 warhead work. This would stop DoD and NNSA from obligating or spending FY2026 funds on those two programs. The restriction would apply only in fiscal year 2026 and end at the close of that year.
