Farm areas on the broadband map
If enacted, the FCC would add a new map layer that shows where agricultural areas are. The update would be due within 180 days of enactment, and the FCC would keep this layer up to date. The FCC would consult USDA, the Commerce Department’s telecom office, states, and other stakeholders. This could help planners and internet providers find rural coverage gaps and plan buildouts. The bill does not specify new funding.
