Protect Our Farmers and Families Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Luna, Anna Paulina [R-FL-13]
Introduced
Summary
Immediate nationwide ban on the pesticide diquat. This bill would deem diquat to generally cause unreasonable adverse effects under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act and require the Environmental Protection Agency to cancel all registrations for its uses. It would also direct the EPA to revoke any tolerances that allow diquat residues on food, prohibit the sale and use of existing stocks effective on enactment, and bar future reregistration of diquat. The result would end legal availability of diquat in U.S. agriculture and commerce.
