In Committee
Summary
Ban on withholding transcripts from Post-9/11 educational assistance recipients who owe institutional debt. This bill would add Section 3328 to chapter 33 of title 38 and bar an educational institution from withholding a person's transcript solely because they attended using Post-9/11 educational assistance and owe a debt to the institution. The bill also updates the chapter's table of sections to reflect the new provision.

No transcript holds for GI Bill students
If enacted, schools would not be allowed to hold your transcript just because you owe them money, if you used Post-9/11 educational assistance (chapter 33) to attend. This would only cover holds based on debt owed to the school. It would not address holds for other reasons. The change would take effect upon enactment.
