Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.
Public AI training for small businesses
This bill would require the Small Business Administration to post publicly available online AI training within 180 days. Modules would explain how AI works, its limits, and how to spot AI outputs. They would cover vendor contracts, risk management, privacy of inputs, and keeping humans in key decisions. SBA would consult NIST and an advisory group. The group would include experts, SBA staff, partners, and small business representatives. Materials would be neutral about brands, actionable, and on the SBA’s existing learning site. Resource partners would help share them and may add local modules.
No new money for small-business AI training
This bill would not authorize new money to carry out the AI training. SBA would have to use existing funds or wait for separate appropriations. This would limit the scale or speed of the new training.
