Priority processing for veterans' disability claims
If enacted, the bill would require the VA Secretary to write rules that give priority processing for disability compensation claims. You would get priority if you have extreme financial hardship, are homeless, have a terminal illness, are in the VA Fully Developed Claim program, or live where the President declared a major disaster. For veterans in a declared major disaster area, the Secretary would be able to set flexible evidence rules and a flexible filing deadline. The VA would also have to post a permanent notice on its website listing these priority categories no later than 60 days after enactment.
