More thyroid research, data, and outreach

If enacted, this bill would fund HHS research and outreach on thyroid disease. It would authorize $30 million per year for FY2026–FY2030 for HHS research and $30 million per year for FY2026–FY2030 for gap and disparities analysis, plus $3 million per year for a public awareness campaign in the same years. The Secretary would study causes, diagnostics, treatments, thyroid cancer and survivorship (including reproductive impacts), symptom care, and disparities by race, ethnicity, sex, geography, language, disability, and insurance status. The Secretary would be able to collect data from Medicaid (T‑MSIS), Medicare, cancer registries, group health plans, and surveys, must protect patient privacy, and must send a preliminary report within 24 months and a final report by the end of fiscal year 2030.
