- Advisory committee members: Would serve on committees set up to discuss CFTC regulatory activities and would be expected to meet as necessary and to file reports and recommendations.
- Existing advisory committees: Could continue operating under their current charter or section rules until that charter is renewed or until September 30, 2026, whichever comes first.
- Commission oversight: Would make those advisory committees subject to the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), applying chapter 10 of title 5 of the United States Code to their operation.
