Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Fast tech course approvals for veterans

If enacted, VA would work with private employers, schools, and nonprofits to list growing tech industries, specific jobs, and the courses that prepare veterans for those jobs. VA would add those technologies, courses, industries, and jobs to the Transition Assistance Program and to the VA website. VA would set up a fast approval process for those listed courses for chapters 34, 35, and 36 within 90 days of enactment. This stakeholder and course-approval requirement would end on September 30, 2027.

More VA tech training for veterans

If enacted, VA would rename its High Technology program to include "emerging technology" and explicitly cover training and job placement in those fields. The program would be required to identify critical emerging technologies, with examples like artificial intelligence and semiconductor manufacturing. The bill would also change two other VA education rules to use the new “high technology or emerging technology” wording so those rules cover the same fields.
