Show full summary
- Veterans and participants: Clearer outcome measures. Employment is counted 180 days after program completion and reported as full-time, part-time, or self-employment so veterans can see how the program translates to jobs.
- VA program staff and training providers: Must compute the rate as a percentage with a defined denominator of program completers and a numerator of those employed 180 days later, and exclude cases where the graduate is employed as an instructor by the same provider or an affiliate.
- Public, researchers, and policymakers: Will get access to the published rates and related data to compare provider performance and track program improvements over time.

More job reporting and feedback for veterans
If enacted, the bill would require the Department of Veterans Affairs to calculate and publish an annual VET TEC employment rate. The rate would be the share of people who finished a VET TEC program during the year and who are employed 180 days after finishing, expressed as a percentage. People employed by the same training provider, or by a parent or affiliate as an instructor for a similar program, would be excluded from the count. The VA would give the rate to the House of Representatives and make it available to the public, and would report full-time, part-time, and self-employment rates when practicable. The bill would also require the VA to regularly collect and analyze feedback from VET TEC participants and the GI Bill School Feedback Tool and use that feedback to evaluate and improve program implementation.
