- Students and households: Students with a zero or negative student aid index who submit a FAFSA would receive written and electronic information about potential SNAP eligibility, the SNAP application process, and contact details for their State SNAP office.

- Federal and state coordination and timing: The Department of Education must consult with the Department of Agriculture and any other applicable federal or state agencies when designing the outreach materials. The bill would take effect 120 days after enactment.
