Easier child claims for custodial parents
If enacted, this bill would require group health plans, Federal Employees Health Benefits carriers, and federal health programs to give custodial parents the information needed when a child is covered by a noncustodial parent's plan, including a stepparent. You or a provider you approve would be able to submit claims for covered services without the noncustodial parent's approval. Payments on approved claims would be made directly to you, the provider, or to the State agency when that applies. These rules would apply for plan years or program periods starting on or after January 1, 2026.
