More child care funding 2027–2031
If enacted, the bill would authorize $850 million each year for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 to carry out the Child Care and Development Block Grant. This money would be in addition to amounts otherwise authorized under section 658B. The funds would have to be appropriated by Congress before being spent.
More child care help for students
If enacted, the bill would expand which education and training programs count as a parent's activity for child care assistance under CCDBG. It would include programs accredited by an institution of higher education, programs of institutions accredited by Department of Education‑recognized agencies, programs registered with the Department of Labor or state labor agencies, and nursing assistant training approved by the State for licensure or certification. The change would take effect upon enactment.
