Summary
Creates a federal crime to protect Federal law enforcement officers from interference while they perform their duties. This bill would make it unlawful, after a verbal warning, to knowingly approach or remain within 15 feet of a federal officer with the intent to impede their work, to threaten them with physical harm, or to harass them. Violators would face a fine, up to 5 years in prison, or both. The change adds a new Section 1522 to Chapter 73 of title 18 of the U.S. Code.
