Lower taxes for firearm owners and makers
This bill would eliminate the $200 National Firearms Act making and transfer taxes by changing those amounts to $0. If enacted, you would not pay the $200 making or transfer tax for each taxable NFA firearm making or transfer. The bill would also provide that the separate special tax in section 5801 would not apply to tax years that begin after the bill's effective date. It would fix a legal cross-reference in the excise-tax rules that may change which transfers qualify as exempt. These changes would take effect on the first day of the first calendar quarter that begins after 90 days after enactment.
