Boost production of critical defense items
If enacted, this bill would require the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment to send a production plan within 180 days. The plan would go to the collaborative forum, the Defense Logistics Agency, and congressional defense committees. The forum would form a working group to identify advanced manufacturing solutions that should enable production within 24 months of the group's start. Within 60 days of getting the plan, the Defense Logistics Agency would mark identified critical readiness items on its No Bid Solicitation List.
