Summary
Allows electronic transfers from the Thrift Savings Fund to qualified brokerage retirement plans. This bill would let individual federal savers move money from their Thrift Savings Fund account into a qualified retirement plan held at a brokerage firm after one year, provided the saver supplies the information the Executive Director needs to make the transfer.

- Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board and Treasury: The Executive Director, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, must submit a report to Congress assessing implementation of the electronic transfer provision one year after enactment.

Move TSP money to brokerage plans
If enacted, you would be able to transfer money electronically from your Thrift Savings Fund (TSP) account to a qualified retirement plan held at a brokerage firm. This would begin on the date one year after enactment and only when such a transfer is otherwise permitted. You would need to give the Executive Director of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board the information needed to carry out the transfer. The Executive Director, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, would report to Congress on implementation one year after enactment. The bill would define "Thrift Savings Fund" by reference to 5 U.S.C. 8437 and "qualified retirement plan" by reference to 26 U.S.C. 4974(c).
