- Participants and families: Participants in the covered WIC packages would receive juice by default. They could request a $3 cash-value voucher instead, and that $3 would be adjusted annually for inflation.

If enacted, WIC participants in Food Packages IV (children 1–4) and V–VII (pregnant and breastfeeding women) would get juice as the default benefit. Juice would mean products that meet the Table 4 specifications in current WIC rules. You would be able to request a $3 cash-value voucher instead of the default juice. The $3 amount would be adjusted each year for inflation the same way WIC cash-value vouchers for women and children are adjusted. State WIC agencies would be required to carry out the change, and the Agriculture Secretary would be able to issue or revise rules to implement it.
