If enacted, this bill would stop the Agriculture Secretary from closing or moving most local USDA county and field offices. It would require minimum staffing at NRCS, FSA, and Rural Development local service centers. That staffing must keep centers open and accessible to the public during standard business hours. Exceptions: an office within 20 miles of another USDA office in the same State could be closed or moved, and offices could be relocated within the same county for routine leasing. The rule would take effect upon enactment.
