Federal AI prize and challenge program
This bill would require the OSTP Director to set up a federal AI prize competition program within one year of enactment. Each prize would need a posted problem statement, targets, success metrics, validation tests, and the award on Challenge.gov. Agency heads would notify Congress of winners within 60 days and would post public biennial reports starting two years after enactment. The Commerce, Transportation, and NSF leaders could run related challenge-based research programs, and that research would have to be conducted in the United States. Each program created here would terminate five years after enactment unless Congress renews it.
