Higher pay option for NRC career appointees
If enacted, this bill would let the NRC Chairman set a career appointee's annual basic pay at up to 110 percent of the Commission's Senior Executive Service (SES) maximum (per 5 U.S.C. 5382). This would apply no matter when the career appointee was appointed. The exercise of this authority would not affect certification of the NRC performance appraisal system under 5 U.S.C. 5307(d). NRC personnel and pay reports would include how many career appointees have pay fixed under this new authority, and related cross-reference updates would be made in existing NRC and ADVANCE Act reporting provisions.
