Summary
Union financial transparency would be the core change. The bill would amend the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act to require labor organizations to include any audit results they have access to in required reports and to make those results available to members by posting them on the union’s website or by providing a physical or electronic copy on request if the union lacks a website. The requirement would apply to reports filed six months after enactment. There are no new appropriations, taxes, or funding mechanisms. *This bill would not authorize new federal spending.*

If the union has a website, it would have to post those audit results there. If the union does not have a website, members would be able to request and receive a paper or electronic copy. These requirements would apply only to reports submitted on or after that six-month date.
