VA pilot for 4D lung imaging

If enacted, the bill would create a VA pilot to test a four-dimensional functional lung imaging software at VA medical facilities. The pilot would screen veterans who receive VA medical services for respiratory disorders and lung disease. The VA Secretary would seek to lease an FDA-approved 4D lung-function imaging software product from a developer. The Secretary would only be able to enter lease agreements for five years after enactment. The bill would authorize $5,000,000 per year for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 to run the pilot. The Secretary would report to Congress on the pilot's effectiveness no later than two years after the leasing authority ends.
