Summary
Removes statutory exemptions to the English and civics testing requirements for U.S. naturalization. This bill would delete two paragraphs from 8 U.S.C. 1423(b) that currently let some applicants bypass the English language and U.S. government and history knowledge parts of the naturalization test. Applicants who had claimed those statutory exemptions would instead need to meet the standard English and civics prerequisites to become U.S. citizens.
