Labor Department must notify workers, employers
If enacted, the bill would require the Labor Department to sign a written agreement with a person before giving 'adverse assistance.' The Department would give a copy to any employer or contractor directly and adversely impacted. The bill would define 'adverse assistance' as help given to an attorney for use in civil wage-and-hour cases. For arrangements that existed before enactment, the Secretary would have 60 days to sign the agreement and give copies. Completing those steps within 60 days would count as if done before the assistance.
