Immigration rights info for small businesses

This bill would require the Small Business Administration to create and keep educational resources, a printable and electronic card, and planning materials for small business owners and employees about immigration enforcement rights and employer responsibilities. The materials would explain on-site response steps (for example, remaining silent, refusing to sign documents, and asking to see a signed judicial search warrant), arrest and detention rights (including the right to a lawyer and the option to contact Members of Congress for casework help), and how to prepare for I-9 audits, inspections, and employer sanctions. The SBA would post the resources on its online learning platform and regional and district office websites, allow distribution of physical copies, coordinate with resource partners for training, and consult DHS, the immigration courts, civil-rights and legal experts. The materials would include a legal-advice disclaimer, be available in American Sign Language and the 15 most commonly spoken U.S. languages other than English (including Spanish and Chinese), could not blame owners or employees or discourage use of SBA services based on immigration status, and would be established within 180 days after enactment.
