Recognize and honor motherhood. This nonbinding resolution would affirm support for recognizing mothers, acknowledge the sacrifices and civic contributions of mothers including stepmothers, adoptive mothers, and single mothers, cite President Woodrow Wilson's 1914 proclamation establishing Mother's Day, and encourage Americans to observe Mother's Day as a celebration of women who bring life into the world and nurture the next generation.
