Supporting the goals and ideals of "National Charter Schools Week", to be observed from May 10 through May 16, 2026.

Supports public charter schools and National Charter Schools Week. The resolution congratulates students, families, teachers, leaders, and staff of public charter schools for contributing to public education and helping close achievement gaps. It notes charter schools are tuition-free public schools that enroll any student and often use lotteries when seats exceed demand. About 8,000 charter schools served roughly 3.7 million students in 2021–22, up from 660,000 in 2002. A 2023 Stanford report found low-income charter students gained the equivalent of 16 extra days of learning in reading and 6 extra days in math each year. The resolution encourages communities to hold programs and activities during National Charter Schools Week, May 10–16, 2026.
