Introduced
Summary
Honoring the life and legacy of Charles B. Rangel. This resolution would recognize his Korean War valor at the Battle of Kunu-ri, where he earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with Valor, his 46 years in the House from 1971 to 2017, and his role as a founder of the Congressional Black Caucus and as the first African American to serve on and later chair the House Ways and Means Committee. It would also note his authorship of Korean War veterans legislation, decades of work strengthening the U.S.-Republic of Korea alliance, the Republic of Korea National Assembly's tribute, his death on May 26, 2025, and his interment with full honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
