HRES1501119th Congress

Recognizing the 80th anniversary of the Fulbright Program.

Sponsored By: Representative Hill, J. French [R-AR-2]

Introduced

Summary

Recognize the Fulbright Program's 80th anniversary. This resolution would mark August 1, 2026 and honor the 1946 program that promotes international goodwill through student and scholar exchanges in education, culture, and science. It notes the program is run by the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, provides about 9,000 grants a year across more than 160 countries (49 with cost-sharing binational commissions), and has reached over 450,000 people including 63 Nobel laureates and 44 heads of state. The resolution would encourage congressional support, congratulate recipients, and call on students and professionals to pursue exchanges that build international relationships and advance U.S. foreign policy and national security.
