Show full summary
- Veterans: Ensures the VA offers at least one mammography program in each State and Puerto Rico within two years, using telescreening, a full-service VA facility, or a mobile program.
- Veterans with disabilities: Requires each program to be accessible to veterans with paralysis, spinal cord injury, or other disabilities, consistent with accessibility requirements.
- VA facilities and services: Removes the pilot label so the VA can expand telescreening beyond current sites, explicitly allows mobile and full-service options, and sets a fixed sunset date of May 1, 2027.

More mammogram access for veterans
If enacted, the VA would have two years from enactment to offer at least one mammography program in every State and in Puerto Rico. The options would be: the amended telescreening mammography program, a full-service VA mammography clinic, or a VA mobile mammography unit. Each program would be required to be accessible to veterans with paralysis, a spinal cord injury or disorder, or other disabilities. The bill would remove the 'pilot' label and set a fixed end date of May 1, 2027. It would also let the Secretary expand telescreening beyond the original pilot and to States without VA breast imaging services.
