CDC child sexual abuse prevention
If enacted, the bill would require the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the CDC, to maintain and expand a child sexual abuse prevention program. The program would identify gaps in research and practice and work to fill them. It would improve surveillance and data collection, including for technology-facilitated child sexual abuse. It would study risk and protective factors, strengthen and develop evidence-based policies and programs, and increase dissemination and implementation of proven prevention strategies. The bill would authorize $6,000,000 each year for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 to carry out the program. The program would take effect upon enactment.
