New RLTT Priorities Guide FY2025 Grants

The Department proposes new priorities and requirements for the Rehabilitation Long-Term Training (RLTT) program that focus on the Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) and six rehabilitation topic areas. These priorities may be used to guide RLTT funding competitions starting in fiscal year (FY) 2025 and later. This will change which training projects and applicants are favored in those grant competitions.

Focused Support for RSA Scholars (Students)

If you are an RSA scholar or a student training to become a vocational rehabilitation professional, these proposed priorities focus RLTT training on six rehab topics and the CSPD. The Department may use these priorities in competitions starting in FY2025, which means scholarship and training opportunities may be aligned to those topics.

Stronger VR Services for People with Disabilities

The proposed RLTT priorities are intended to help train and keep qualified vocational rehabilitation (VR) personnel, which aims to result in stronger services for people who need VR. The Department says this action is intended to address national needs and fill critical VR positions where there are shortages.

Focus on Retaining VR Workforce

The Department proposes priorities that specifically target the retention of qualified vocational rehabilitation (VR) personnel in State VR services. The change is meant to help keep skilled VR workers in the field and fill critical positions with shortages.
