Airbus Canada Jets Face FAA Fire Line Inspection Rule

Published Date: 3/28/2025

Rule

Summary

The FAA is making sure some Airbus Canada planes (Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11) stay safe by checking fire extinguisher lines and fasteners inside the plane. They found these parts might be too close and could cause trouble, so inspections and fixes are now required. Owners need to act soon to keep their planes flying safely without extra costs piling up.

Mandatory Inspections for BD-500 Models

If you operate an Airbus Canada Model BD-500-1A10 or BD-500-1A11 airplane, the FAA now requires inspections of fire extinguishing (FIREX) lines and certain fasteners in the center mid-fuselage and keel beam areas, plus any needed repairs. The rule requires following the inspections and corrective actions as specified in the Transport Canada airworthiness directive that the FAA incorporated by reference to address insufficient clearance that could create an unsafe condition.
