Proposed Rule

Summary

If you fly or fix certain Airbus A318 to A321 planes, the FAA wants you to keep checking the main landing gear doors like before, but now you’ll also need to replace some parts to keep things safe. This update means more work and some costs, but it’s all about making sure those planes stay safe in the sky. The FAA is serious about keeping these planes in top shape, so don’t wait to follow the new rules!

Must replace main landing gear doors

The FAA proposes replacing affected main landing gear (MLG) doors on Airbus Model A318-series; specific A319 models listed; A320-series; and A321-series airplanes. The proposed AD would require replacing affected parts with serviceable parts in addition to continuing prior actions from AD 2024-25-06.

Repetitive inspections and installation ban continue

The proposed AD would continue the repetitive inspection requirements of AD 2024-25-06 for the main landing gear doors and would continue prohibiting installation of the affected parts. You must keep performing the inspections required by AD 2024-25-06 and comply with the installation prohibition.
