Aft-Cargo Fire System Inspections Required

The FAA proposes a rule requiring a functional check of the aft cargo fire extinguishing system on certain ATR airplanes: Model ATR42-300, -320, -500; ATR72-201 and -212A; and all ATR72-102, -202, -211, and -212 airplanes. If problems are found, operators must perform the required on-condition actions, and for some airplanes an additional functional check and any needed repairs are required.
