Summary

Starting November 10, 2025, commercial fishers with tilefish permits must stop catching and landing blueline tilefish because the 2025 fishing quota has been fully caught. Commercial Blueline Tilefish Closure

Starting at 00:01 on November 10, 2025, federal commercial tilefish permit holders are prohibited from fishing for, catching, possessing, transferring, or landing blueline tilefish in the Tilefish Management Unit. The closure lasts through December 31, 2025, because NMFS projects 100 percent of the 2025 total allowable landings have been caught. If you hold a commercial tilefish permit (vessel or dealer), you must stop blueline tilefish activities during this period.
