Instrument Procedure Changes Effective Nov 13

If you fly under instrument flight rules, this rule amends, suspends, or removes Standard Instrument Approach Procedures (SIAPs), Takeoff Minimums, and Obstacle Departure Procedures (ODPs) at certain airports, effective November 13, 2025. The changes are made to keep instrument flights safe and to reflect new navigational facilities, added obstacles, or air traffic requirement changes.

Updated Procedures Available Free Online

All SIAPs and Takeoff Minimums and ODPs are available online free of charge from the National Flight Data Center (register at nfdc.faa.gov). You can also obtain copies from the FAA Air Traffic Organization Service Area or the FAA Aeronautical Information Services office.

FAA Certifies Minimal Small-Business Impact

The FAA certified that this amendment is not a "significant regulatory action" and will not have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities under the Regulatory Flexibility Act. The agency states the anticipated impact is minimal.

Some Amendments Took Effect Quickly (<30 Days)

The SIAP amendments in this rule were previously issued as FDC permanent NOTAMs as emergency actions and needed to be made effective in less than 30 days for safety. Where applicable, the FAA found notice and public procedure impracticable and made the SIAPs effective in under 30 days.

Sioux Falls (SD) RADAR-1 Amendment Dec 25

Joe Foss Field (Sioux Falls, SD) will have a RADAR-1 procedure amendment (FDC No. 5/8837, FDC date 10/30/2025) with an AIRAC date of December 25, 2025; individual SIAPs and associated Takeoff Minimums and ODPs are effective at 0901 UTC on the dates specified. If you operate at this airport in South Dakota, you must use the amended RADAR-1 procedure on and after those effective dates.
